This water retention is on Maple Leaf Foods land. The berm surrounds an already wet portion of land, increasing its capacity to store water. The section of the berm with culvert and spillway spans an existing drain where the culvert acts as a restriction, releasing water slower than it can enter the retention. There is also an inlet culvert on the east side to prevent water from sitting on the hay field next to it. The rock spillway allows for overflow in high rainfall events.
