In 2025, before we launched our Pollinator Garden program, our staff installed a pollinator garden in the backyard of the office. We removed the sod, added in soil, and got planting. There are over 200 plants and 15 native species in the garden. With the help of Prairie Originals we selected plants ideal for our soil, and also ones with a variety of bloom times. Using a large diversity of plants with different bloom times provides habitats for pollinators throughout the summer. To create a better overwintering environment, garden maintenance will take place in spring once the bees wake up.
